Traditions of the Bundi festival:
The Bundi festival is celebrated for two days. The main highlights of the first day is the colorful Shobha Yatra (procession). This procession includes arts and crafts fairs, ethnic sports, cultural exhibition of the folk and classical music and dance programs to arouse the interest of the guests attending the celebrations. The features of this fair are Deep Daan, sight seeing tour, traditional rural sports, turban wearing competitions, bridal attire shows, musical bands competition and the dazzling display of the colorful fireworks. Even the villagers of the nearby villages come to this town to be a part of this grand affair.
During the Bundi fair the small town of Keshorai Patan becomes lively and very energetic. One can even say that it becomes the Mini Pushkar where people of different ethnicities and countries come together to celebrate this festival. In the night this village is drenched in moonlight and completely mesmerizes the visitors. During this occasion the villagers wear traditional Rajasthani costumes and jewelery. They gather at the banks of the Chambal river and chants the traditional songs related to the rituals of this fair. After that they offer prayers and float the diyas in the river. The entire of view of the several diyas floating in the river is very magical.
